Christmas, The Season of Hope

Hope is what gets you up in the morning
To face another day
Hope is what fills your heart with courage
And gives you strength to stay

Hope is the reason to choose what is right
No matter what the cost
Hope is the reason to keep on going
When everything seems lost

Hope is more than wishful thinking
An unrealistic dream
Hope is more than a passing feeling
That vanishes like steam

Hope is more than the opposite
Of pessimistic gloom
Hope is more than an answer
To life’s fatalistic doom

Hope is the Babe of Bethlehem
The shepherds saw that night
And hope is the Child the Magi found
Led by the star so bright

Hope is the Man who taught God’s truth
By the Galilean Sea
And Hope is the One Who showed God’s love
On a cross on Calvary

Hope prepares a place for those
Who will believe He came
To give the hope that we all need
By trusting in His name

Jesus is the Hope of the season
